My name is Adrienne Olson. I have experience and knowledge in the fields of English, composition, English and American literature, reading comprehension, verbal comprehension, and English for non-native speakers (especially German). Much of my education is in the field of music; however, I have composed extensive papers on various topics and am fluent in both AP and Chicago Manual of Style. I am also familiar with the German language and have experience translating from German into English. Education: 1) B.A. from Southern Adventist University (1992) major: music, minor: English (English minor included advanced composition courses, creative writing, English and American literature; composed numerous research papers–AP style) 2) M.M. degree from the New England Conservatory of Music (1994) 3) North German Organ Academy post-graduate studies, Bremen, Germany (and Ostfriesland) familiar with the German language and with teaching American English to those who speak German 4) D.M.A. (2001) doctoral thesis: translated a portion of a 1782 treatise from German into English (used Chicago Manual of Style) I have taught classes in both Music and English on an adjunct basis, but enjoy working with students on an individual basis so that I can target their specific educational goals. I am passionate about learning as a lifetime goal.
